| Tech Stuff | The
first ten episodes of "Pink" were shot in late July '07 in
only six days in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Season Two
post-production is almost done. New episodes
premiere in September! Show is shot in HDV on a Canon XH-A1 and a Canon HV20 using a Letus Extreme 35mm adapter. Some fun toys used on the shoot (which add a lot of production value and aren't normally used on web series) are a jib, a Steadicam Fyler rig and an underwater housing. Shows are cut on two Avid systems (one desktop Media Composer and one laptop Xpress Pro) in true 1080p 24fps HD. We transcode the HDV footage to an Avid DNxHD codec. For color correction we're using the built-in Avid color corrector, and also Magic Bullet Colorista, Digital Film Tools 55mm and Boris Continuum. Currently all final shows are exported into letterboxed standard definition QuickTime files for web compression. In the future we will likely make the shows available for download in 720p HD (likely a small fee will apply). And a DVD of the first two "seasons" (and subsequent ones) will be produced and on sale as well. |
